What is Impact Moling?
Impact Moling is a new digging technique in which a pneumatic piercing tool is used to create a bore hole in the ground where the ground is compacted and displaced rather than excavated and removed, meaning disruption and reinstatement are at a minimal to your property. The percussive mole (soil displacement hammer) is launched from a small excavation to displace the soil and form a bore hole. The new conduit or pipe is normally drawn in behind the mole or pulled back into the bore using the hammers reverse action.
Impact Moling is now seen as the simplest and least expensive trenchless technology installation method to use when adding or replacing water supplies
At Brennan Moling External Moling Services Hertfordshire, our methods are a proven fast and efficient method of installing new pipes, saving both labour and materials when compared to traditional trench excavation.
As impact moling or trenchless moling usually only involves excavations only 1 x 1 meter and 1 metre deep, there is no need to disturb the top surface as the mole can burrows discreetly through and under gardens, patios and driveways.
The end result is less excavations to your property.
Brennan Moling Impact Moling
Whether you require the installation of a new water supply pipe, water main or alternative utility our projects reduce disruption to the works area.
Brennan Moling employ the use of a mole between multiple shot holes upto 10m-12m apart boring a hole in between. Through these trenches, a new water supply pipe, water main, or alternative utility can be inserted through the bore.
This method of trenchless utility installation reduces disruption compared to traditional methods like open cutting, trenches.
Prior to any excavations, a full utility survey and pipe trace is competed to determine the location of underground utilities and any drainage storm or Foul systems
